Description of the Massage Techniques:
Neuromuscular/ Trigger Point
Trigger Point therapy uses the neuromuscular system to balance and normalize muscle function and reduce the pain response. Trigger Point is an acupressure/Shiatsu-anatomically oriented, deep tissue, pressure point technique used for spot work to relieve pain and increase mobility.
Sensory Repatterning
Fashioned after Dr. Milton Trager’s technique, Sensory Repatterning is based on a “mind to muscle” connection, involving rocking, shaking, and moving body parts through a natural range of motion. It is a gentle, nurturing approach to repatterning the body’s condition. The idea is to present to the body a feeling of freedom from the limits it has set for itself by its own mental programming. This therapy is done fully clothed.
Deep Tissue/Skin Rolling
After warming the skin, the therapist is able to go deeper into the muscle belly with either direct sinking pressure or by lifting the tissue away from the boney attachment.
Sports Massage/Training Massage
This massage will enhance your performance and help you recuperate faster from delayed muscle soreness. It can help you stretch and relax your muscles both before and after your workout. It can reduce the chance of injury with increasing your range of motion and flexibility in areas most prone to performance problems.
Swedish/Circulatory Massage
In Swedish or Circulatory Massage, the therapist manipulates the skin in soft, soothing strokes. Light to medium pressure is applied for the relief of muscle tension. Great for improving circulation, reducing stress and improving muscle condition.
Massage Cupping
Massage Cupping utilizes glass cups to create suction/vacuum and a negative pressure that will loosen adhesions by lift connective tissue allowing new blood to flow to stagnant, tight tissue and stimulates the peripheral nervous system. Cupping is a subtle, yet powerful modality that is also used to drain excess fluids and toxins and increase movement in the body.
Prenatal Massage
Prenatal Massage is performed during pregnancy and can reduce anxiety, decrease swelling and sciatic nerve pain, relieve muscle aches and joint pain and improve labor outcomes.
